Sky Gypsies Aerotrekking In Southern
New Mexico's Hidalgo County

The Sky Gypsies Headquarters In Hidalgo County's Rodeo, New Mexico Area
While on a flight to Nepal in the magnificent Himalayan Mountains, John McAfee and his beloved partner Jennifer Irwin noticed an article in an in flight magazine about motorized winged kites.
Upon arriving back to the states, McAfee and Irwin began taking flight lessons with their new found passion of aerotrekking, a winged trike with a high-tech engine capable of speeds up to 120 miles per hour or able to cruise at 25 miles an hour over the desert floor.
John McAfee, one of the founding members of the SkyGypsies has invested several million dollars of his own money and has built several landing strips and kite hangers throughout New Mexico and Arizona. His main headquarters is located in Hidalgo County, New Mexico near the little desert town of Rodeo, New Mexico and Portal, Arizona. He has built an amazing little airport and flight school for the new sport of hi-tech aerotrekking adventures.
The complex is located in the San Simon Valley right below the magical Peloncillo Mountain range. Across the valley lies the awesome Chiricahua Mountains with peaks towering nearly 10,000 feet in elevation. McAfee has built a state of the art complex, including a Sky Gypsy Cafe serving damn good coffee and quiche! There's also a movie theater called the Galaxy Cinema which often shows classic films. John McAfee and his beloved partner Jennifer Irwin, recently opened the new Chiricahua Mountain Outfitters and Rodeo Natural Foods Market along Highway 80 in New Mexico. It's a beautiful natural market, with fine organic food and a freindly wholesome energy! Stop in and check it out.
An interesting award from the Global Eco-Science Awards Association was bestowed upon John McAfee and his band of fellow Gypsies. The Aerotrekking Sky Gypsies, of Southern New Mexico, amass a top award in 2008 for inventing and promoting the new sport called Aerotrekking, being the newest invention of its kind allowing eco-friendly wilderness transportation. If this form of eco-tourism is adopted on a larger scale by more outdoor wilderness travelers, then ultimately more of our pristine wilderness areas across our national parks can remain virtually untouched.
We fell in love with the Chiricahua Mountains and just had to be out here no matter what! It's rural and a wildly beautiful raw environment. We're amazed with the intense beauty of this mountainous region of Southeastern Arizona near the borderlands of New Mexico and Mexico.
If you're interested in this pristine environment and would like to invest in land or perhaps build your Eco-friendly dream home, this valley and scenery is certainly enchanting enough to spend an entire lifetime here and now!
